Chicken Jump - Crazy Traffic App Game by @FirePunchD @playdigious

This fun app of the day is a lot of fun to play. Avoid traffic while trying to collect the coins. The higher you jump the more you avoid accidents and the better your score gets. More coin you collect helps you get new upgraded characters that can jump higher.

I highly recommend it even though the FREE version have ads. It is very addicting game, I won't be surprise if you will pay the full price to play this.

#Review Problems I encountered on my MotoTec Velocifero 1600W Electric Scooter after 6 months and how it compared to Rad Power Bike

This will likely be the last video to focus on the 1600 watt Velocifero by MotoTec because we've purchased 2 Rad Power Electric bikes to review and we are looking for another brand of electric bike for to also review/compare.
I can say that the overall construction of the Rad Power Bikes is far superior to that of the Mototech Velocifero scooter.
The price difference between the Rad and MotoTech offering is small with the Rad bike being a much better overall value in my honest opinion. I'll post a review of the Rad Power Bikes in another video.
The Mototech scooter had a number of quality issues with the batteries and charger being my and most costly repair. The original batteries plastic cases melted and all 4 of them fused together because there was no safety built into the charger to prevent overcharging.
So the batteries failed after a few weeks.
I do enjoy riding the scooter but it has required constant maintenance and repair.
It has a 1600 watt motor and 48v battery setup but I was only able to get it to 18 mph max. I was able to get the Rad Power Bike to 22 mph with my son and I both on it and it uses a 750 watt motor which is also a 48v setup but uses lithium batteries.
I've calculated a range of approximately 20 to 25 miles for the Velocifero scooter, but remember this is with new and better replacement batteries.

Task of the Day ~ Made the sign to attach on my Rad Wagon Electric Bike

2019 is almost here and I have been telling myself that I am doing the right thing despite the fact that I am unsure if my website or YouTube channel is going to the direction I am hoping it will. I keep thinking if I just keep going that somehow it will get there. Even though I wonder if there is someone who does really read this post or I am just talking to the "net" lol.

Despite this uncertainties, I decided why not make a sign that I can attach to my Rad Wagon Electric bike so when we are out on our daily adventures maybe someone will notice and check it out.

I am no artist BUT I do have the will to make things happen. So I asked hubby to cut me a wood and stained it. I bought this cheap Rotary tool (someday I will get that Dremel when I have the budget) and so far it does the things I want to do. I printed some letters since I am not good in lettering and it took me a LONG time to have it stenciled to the wood and carve it this way.

I guess the hard work pays coz it looks exactly what I hope it would look. I just need to attach it to my bike and hope someone will notice.

On the crazy note, hubby told me I shouldn't include the www instead just add the van or the mountain instead. Well, too late for that! I will need to make another one next time and hopefully it will be the perfect sign. For now I am sticking to this one and hope for the best.

Thanks for being here.

Guides on How to Save Cash in 2019 - The $5 Five Dollar Challenge! #5dollarChallenge

We've all been through that hardship in life and every year we made a resolution that we will start saving something in case of rainy days BUT for some reason we stop and the goal is gone and we are left with nothing.

So this year, my goal is to make it attainable and stick to it. We've been wanting to live the #VanLife and be part of the #VanLifeMovement, I have been trying to figure out what we can do to make it possible and have the best #VanLifeAdventures of our time.

Here's my first step. I think it helps when you post a post-it on your fridge or mirror or by your main door (really anywhere you wanted that will reminds you of THAT goal) to constantly remind you that you are doing the right thing. My Goal is to pay off our debts, pay at least half of our home loan in 10yrs and get our dream Sprinter Van while trying to save a little for our retirement. I know I am starting late at the age of 38 BUT better late than never right?

So without further do, let's start our $5 dollar challenge this coming new year and the years to come.

How to save $5 a day? That's the big question? Below is my thoughts on how to make it happen.

  • You can skip a coffee and a drink when you go out and eat.
  • You can skip a salad or your favorite dessert
  • Skip one night of eating out and cook at home (if you cant cook, buy something pre-made, it is still cheaper than eating out.
  • Bring a lunch to work or school
  • If you work part-time, save that 1hr pay on your salary.
  • If you are a stay-at-home mom like me, save that $ you save using coupons when you go shopping.
  • OR talk to your utility provider and insurance to see if they can lower your monthly payment and use that savings to go to your savings (if you cant do it everyday just make sure you set aside $140 every month)
  • Walk your neighbor's dog, mow your neighbor's yard or drive someone (ie UBER driver) even just once a night it will help a lot.
  • Just think of ways where you can think you can save something, you dont have to do it everyday just make sure if you cant save $5 a day, save $35/week OR $140 per month.
It may seem daunting in the beginning BUT if you see how it is going to change your life and outlook, i think it is worth it. Look below on how much it will be over time.
  • $5 x 7 =              $35/week
  • $35 x 4 =            $140/mo
  • $140 x 12 =        $1,680/year
  • $1680 x 5 =        $8,400/5yrs
  • $1680 x 10 =      $16,800/10yrs
Imagine if you start early and save more than $5 per day, that will be something someday. I would love to hear from you on how you are planning to do it and maybe come back later and let me know how everything's are.

Thank you for being here and wishing you all the best on our challenge!

#REVIEW 2018 Rad Power Bikes Rad Wagon (Our First Ride) with MotoTec 1600 Watt Velocifero riding along. Find out how they compare.

Purchased a 2018 Rad Wagon and Rad Mini for family to ride along with me on the MotoTec Velocifero Mad 1600watt electric scooter.
I'm riding the Velocifero while my wife and kids are in the Rad Wagon. Rad Wagon hit max speed of 21mph with my wife and kids on it. My Velocifero hit max speed of only 18mph with just me in it (179lbs). My wife and kids together weigh about the same as I do. Velocifero is 1600 watts and Rad Wagon is 750 watts and both are rated 48 volts.
We were impressed with the quality of both the Rad Mini and Rad Wagon and they were easy to assemble.
I heard of a customer that complained about the brakes squeaking on her Rad bike in one of the reviews. Her complaint is silly because the breaks on these bikes are the easiest brakes I've ever had to adjust. Mine squeaked until I adjusted them per instructions (a simple turn of the Allen Wrench).
Based on the initial build and ride of these bikes I personally feel they are a great value but of course we'll need several more miles to provide a proper review.
Unlike the Mototech Velocifero which had a number of issues during assembly and then after initial rides. Just last night I noticed yet another issue with the Velocifero. The battery charger connection no longer works if you insert it completely. I had to play with the connector and found out that now to get.it to charge I only need to insert the charge plug into the Velocifero a small amount. It will no longer charge unless you hit the "sweet spot".
I'll post a new update with list if issues on the Mototech Velocifero 1600w electric scooter in a soon to come video.

REVIEW - Initial use of my Rad Power Bikes Rad Wagon (review coming from a family who borrowed money to get this baby) Are they worth $1799

We've been wanting a Rad Power Bikes for 3 years now and we did a lot of reviews and contemplating. I told hubby all I want for Christmas is a RadWagon, knowing this is all I wanted early 2018, we waited to buy this on Cyber Monday when they usually give a great discount. I got a RadWagon and my son got the RadMini  since we are planning to do a lot of adventures with our planned #VanLife and #VanLifeAdventures. Anyway, so we got this on sale and have a total discount of $900 for both (I suggest that if you are not in a hurry to get this bikes you do the same and wait for the Cyber Monday and get a good discount - IF you can WAIT)

Yesterday (Christmas 2018) we unwrapped this baby and the RadMini (not pictured coz my son is not yet comfy using it on his own. Hubby uses his Velocifero Electric Scooter video will be uploaded on our youtube channel soon to compare the two).

The cool this is that, both bikes comes almost pre-assembled and you just need to put some parts. I think it took less than an hour to put the RadWagon and have it all ready for riding. The battery came in pre-charged almost like 90% so that is really sweet coz we get to ride them instantly. Will post detailed video review once we get the chance.

It is our tradition to go to a park or ride our bike on Thanksgiving and Christmas day. Anywhere we go this is a MUST and we need to make sure the kids gets to enjoy them. Yesterday we get to enjoy both. We rode this RadWagon for 10 miles around The Woodlands Bike Trail and the top speed I got (less trying) was 22 miles/hr. I have both kids in the back so you can imagine the miles per hour will get better if you have less cargo in the bike.

I get to ride on it up hill coz we need to cross the bridge to get to the park and since I am new to it I kinda struggle with a stiff road (I almost tip over when I stop on the curve to get to the bridge coz it is a tight turn - will try to take a video in the same spot so you get the idea much better).

Anyway, riding the hill towards the bridge (imagine the roads in San Francisco) is very tricky with 2 kids in the back. I am not sure how the gears works yet so probably that's one of the cause why the RadWagon struggle. Like I said, this is my initial ride of my RadWagon and didn't really study how the gears work yet. The kids and I are all excited to test drive it and we just use what is comfy for me.

It is a lot of fun for sure and so far I am loving my Ebike. I am hoping that the debt we go through to get this bikes are worth it coz if not I will be one unhappy momma lol.

PS
Rad Power Bikes offer an easy monthly payment if you can't afford them like we do. We did not use the offer coz we use a balance transfer to our credit card instead (we just put all the expenses we have for December to one big balance transfer to make it easy to remember and pay off - i hope!)

Let us know if you have any questions and we will try to answer it as knowledgable as we can and will also include it on our YouTube videos.

REVIEW Play-Doh Ocean Adventure set. Fun playing with PlayDoh pretend play at the beach building sand castle fishes & other sea creatures

One of our rule on buying gifts for our kids is that in needs to be the kind that will help them explore, discover and learn new things or experience.
Each year we set a budget for the gifts we can buy for them and this year we have $100 for each of them. We got this and a LOT of stuff last Black Friday sale (I think this one was $10 and I just checked amazon and it is selling from $24-39 yikes! what a steal when we got it!).

It comes with the following cool stuff
  • Create a Play-Doh ocean safari with sea-themed tools and 10 cans
  • Squeeze lots of different fun shapes by pressing the turtle's shell
  • Make whales, crabs, puffer fish, and more with the stampers and cutters
  • Cut with lobster scissors and clamshell has a mold for an adorable fish inside
  • Also includes bucket, shovel, and roller with 6 attachments

If your kids (even you as an adult like me lol) like PlayDoh this is a good one to buy - definitely lots of FUN

Tutorial of How to make a Lego candy dispenser (easy diy Lego project)

Step by step instruction on how to make a Lego candy dispenser. After searching for an easy diy Lego candy dispenser online and couldn't find one that works for us, we decided to make our own version of it. Most we found asked for parts that we don't have. Most of the Lego bricks we have are the common kind and I figure most kids will have the same.

We Make a pocket (easy to keep in your bag) size Lego Candy dispenser for our kids. I figure this will be cute to bring with us when we are out so when the kids gets bored I can bring that smile back by giving them a candy out of this Lego Candy dispenser.

The Ups and Downs of being a mother.. Mothering can be very hard

It's only early Thursday but I feel like it is already end of my day. The kids get up both whiny, sensitive, crying and just arguing every 5 seconds and it is driving me crazy. With me not feeling good (still suffering from this horrendous cold and sinus problems) all I want is to relax not do anything and NOT be a MOM for a day. I love my kids, don't get me wrong, BUT reality is... there are days that I wonder why and cry about it.

So for now, I stop what I'm doing and decided to just write whatever is in my mind and look at this photo to remind my self the joy, the emptiness if they are not around and all the crazies they bring. I tell myself that today is just one of those "few" days and this too will pass. I am always the optimistic one in the family and always try to see the beauty of everything despite the ugliness of it all. I always feel that it is important that one will stay strong and hold the light when everything seems to be dark and falling apart. There are days that it is not easy (including today) and I just need all this simple reminders that it is not the end but just the beginning.

When I am feeling like this, I just need a good walk... take a deep breath and appreciate this "life"

This time I am reminding myself to...

Remember Life is Short...
Explore.
Dream.
Discover.
Breath.

It's official - Winter break is here!

Since we are not full time #VanLifer my son still goes to school, today is his last day at school coz Winter break is here. Every day we get to walk to his school and today is no different. The foggy morning backdrop on this photo makes it more of a symbol of how I feel regarding him growing up so fast and us wanting him to be homeschooled for the next school year.

With #VanLife in mind (and heart) we feel this is a big step. Pulling him away from the normal school life is making me feel worried and happy at the same time.

WORRIED that I may not be good enough to teach him and that I may not make him bloom coz he is such a smart boy. I know there are so many online help but I am still worried that I am not capable of helping him 101%.

Part of me is HAPPY coz we will finally have the freedom and can go anywhere and anytime we want. I am also relieved that I don't have to get up early all the time and cook early meals for breakfast and lunch that he always brings to school. I feel that if he is homeschooled he will have more chance to explore and learn more things that school can't teach him - like the life long lessons that only traveling can teach him.

2019 is going to be a BIG one for us, at least that is what we are hoping for. We can't be full timers yet due to financial issues and stuff we need to do, beside we can't leave our Karate family (there's so much to learn in that part too lol) BUT I have high hopes that we can make part of our dream come true. To Explore. Dream. Discover!

Thank you for being part of our journey!

Remember Life is Short... Explore. Dream. Discover.

How to attach an IKEA Sladda cargo trailer on MotoTec Velocifero Mad 1600 Watt Electric Scooter

This is just a quick video to show the IKEA sladda cargo trailer attached to our MotoTec Velocifero scooter.  We use it to haul the kids around plus hear such as fishing amd camping gear.  The cart was only 129.99 at IKEA and has worked great.  I mistakenly stated it was 69.99 in the video.  The original price was 169.99 but it was on sale when we bought it for 129.99.  In the 2 years we've owned it nothing has gone wrong with it. Right now you can buy one for $199.

Sometimes I use it to take my DJI Phantom 4 Pro drone plus gear to nearby park with the kids.  Guess I should try to give my dog a ride on it as I know he loved riding on my scooters when he was young.

REVIEW: Ikea SLADDA Bicycle trailer - You dont need to buy Ikea bike to enjoy one!

We've had our Ikea SLADDA bicycle trailer for a year & a half now and this thing have proven its worth so many times. We have ride our bikes with our trailer full of snacks, kids (lol), fishing gears,  beach stuff and so much more and it is still looking like new and not showing any problems yet.

Now that we are thinking of living/moving to a Van life after a few years I have to say that this one is a MUST to bring with us. It is very easy to install and if you decide to take it apart to maximize space it is easy to put back (just make sure you keep a nice waterproof bag on your trailer to keep the tools needed and the parts so you don't misplace them).

I can easily see us using this going places like parks, farmers market, beach, river and or wherever it will let us bring it. So if you are interested on getting the SLADDA Bicycle trailer  It is currently priced $199. Sometimes they will have it on sale for up to $40 off.

Another cool thing about this, you don't need to own Ikea's bike or have a new bike to enjoy one. I posted my REVIEW: Ikea SLADDA Bicycle trailer - You dont need to buy Ikea bike to enjoy one! on my old blog and you can read more about it there.

At the moment, hubby can attached it to his electric scooter. I will do the review when hubby get the chance to write one and show you how he jerry rigged the attachment area. I think it took him about 10min to make it work on his scooter.

Anyway, just thinking random stuff that I need to make sure we have only what we NEED when we hit the road and this one comes to mind first :)

Thanks for being here!

RECIPE How to make crispy french fries at home

Last night hubby asked me if we still have fries in the freezer, and I told him "it's all gone" so today I surprised him with his favorite (well one of his favorite lol) BBQ ribs sandwich (made my own sauce) and his favorite homemade fries.

Today, I am going to tell you my secret of making this crispy french fries from home (and yes they are great freezing too).

What you need for this much serving (photo above):
  • 1 medium size russet potatoes
  • 1 cup of oil
  • 2 cups of cold water

Procedure:
  • washed your potatoes (peel or not, it's up to you), cut it however you want. washed/rinsed it until the water runs clear (I usually put it in the cup and see if the water is clear then I know the starch is all gone)
  • place potatoes in a cup with cold water and leave it in the fridge for at least 30 minutes
  • after you have your potatoes rested, place oil in the pan and set it between  medium and high heat (depends on your stove).
  • while waiting for your oil to heat, pat dry your potatoes
  • to know if your oil is ready you can toss a small piece of potatoes and if it sizzles then it is ready (or you can put the end of your wooden spoon and see if it sizzles)
  • fry it until edges turns a LITTLE brown (about to get brown) then set aside for at least a minute or two
  • fry it again until you reach the doneness you wanted
  • sprinkle with salt, cheese or whatever you want to top it :)
The procedure might sound/look daunting BUT believe me it is NOT and it gets so much more easier over time. The taste is so much better than the frozen one and you will not want to buy them after you try this.

Hubby always tell me that my fries is far better than the one he gets from the high end restaurant he gets the chance to dine with in the past BUT I will never know lol. All I know is that, this is truly a good simple recipe and I make them all the time even if we our out camping.

Note:
  • If out camping and I don't have a fridge to put it to rest. I just add some ice on the cup or sit it in the water for at least 15 minutes and fry away.
  • This freezes well, all you have to do is fry it for first time and let it rest. Place it separately in wax paper or tissue paper and freeze then place on a ziploc bag or container. You can either fry it or just place it in the oven under pizza setting for 10 minutes and then change it to "toast" and you will have the same crunchy fries.
Would love to know if you have made this and your thoughts or if you have any questions.

Thanks for being here!

Have a lovely weekend!

Easy recipe for Pico de Gallo (Fresh Salsa recipe)

I have been making this recipe since 2004 while we live in China. Hubby loves Mexican food and it is not easy to find International store to get the bottled salsa so I decided to google and find me something that might work.

This is the basic recipe for Pico de Gallo (some of my friends in China called it Fresh salsa) and I sometimes tweak it by adding the "optional ingredients" posted below.

What I love about this recipe is that - it is very easy to make, I can top it on fried fish or meat (not just limited to Mexican dish), I can top it on my fresh salad and I can plant all this ingredients in our tiny garden (no garden - no problem all this are easy to get on your local store)

Ingredients:
  • 2 medium size Roma tomatoes (diced) you can use different kind of tomatoes for as long as it will yield half cup
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp diced onion (preferably red onion)
  • 1 tbsp chopped jalapeno (fresh or pickled or both)
  • 2 tbsp chopped cilantro
  • salt to taste
  • 1/4 tsp lemon juice (more or less depends on your taste)
  • 1 tbsp chopped red bell pepper (optional)
  • 1 tbsp chopped green bell pepper (optional)
Optional Ingredients:
  • 1/4 cup grilled/roasted/fried corn kernels (I sometimes used canned corn)
  • 1/4 cup black beans
  • 1/4 cup diced avocado
Mixed all ingredients and serve!

ps
this goes perfect with my Piri-Piri Chicken recipe
