Day 31: Places to go. If you love a good dirt bike trail and a good short hike/walk with nature at The Woodlands #Texas then the George Mitchell Preserve Trail is the place to go

Day 31: Places to go.  If you love a good dirt bike trail and a good short hike/walk with nature and you live at The Woodlands #Texas (or at least close to this place then the George Mitchell Preserve Trail is the place to go.

It is very secluded with lots of trees and though it is in the center of the town you feel like you are out in the forest somewhere far far away lol. It was raining when we were there and I told my son that it is like being in rainforest. We can smell the muscadine grapes all over the area coz they are ripe and smooshed in the ground. And the fall season air is definitely getting closer.

This is the map of the trail the orange zigzag lines represents the bike trails. If you have kids who have never been in to a rugged (lots of roots on the bike trail) and sandy bike ride then be prepared and let your kids know that they might have a hard time riding on it. My eldest complain when we get to the mid loop and was not happy coz it was his first time being in there. We told him that this is a great experience for him to learn and adjust and that next time he knows what to do in a situation like this. The rest of the family enjoys the ride though coz it is a new adventure for all of us.

I am looking forward to comeback here again specially in fall. I think some of the trees will change it colors and showcase some amazing fall foliage throughout the trail.

It says in the map that if you are hiking George Mitchell Preserve Trail that it is a 1.5 mile loop. It is a nice short walk and you will definitely enjoy the scenery. Just note that there are times that you might hear fire trucks siren coz you are still close to the road but other than that you wont hear any traffic.

Make sure you bring some towels/wet wipes to clean after your hike. The sandy trail will leave lots of sand if you do a lot of chasing, running, riding bike. Like I said it was raining when we were there so we have sand up to our legs. If you are particular with the cleanliness of your car then be prepared just in case.

Over all, this is a really nice place to get away from the city life. I highly recommend this place specially if you love bike rides.
Our bikes are dirty and our hearts are full of fun memories.

Thanks for being here and enjoy your Labor day celebration.
